On the Road: Washington, D.C. – Granville Moore’s

Granville Moore’s is a gastropub with a focus on Belgian beer and a limited menu of items done right. The pub has a very interesting origin story on the website that describes how it got its name. As for the pub itself, it is popular in the area, so it gets packed quickly. In fact, they were featured on the Food Network show, Throwdown with Bobby Flay. GM is known for its fries, mussels, and beer.

On this trip I was fortunate enough to try a number of great menu items. Starting with the beer, Delirium Tremens and Kasteel Rouge were nice choices. Delirium was spicy in the finish and Kasteel stood out with a bold fresh cherry flavor and tartness on the palate. The fries were nicely seasoned with spices and fresh herbs. i had the bison chili for an appetizer. There were no beans, just meat and fresh grated parmesean cheese. The chili was melt in your mouth fantastic, bold, and spicy. The mussels are not overcooked, and come in many tasty flavors with lots of bread for dipping and sopping.  The chicken entree was huge and filling. You can’t go wrong with this pick.
