Review: Grilled Cheese and Co.

I love grilled cheese sandwiches. Seriously, I do. However, when your website happens to be, you have taken your appreciation to another level. That is the gist of Grilled Cheese and Co., a Maryland franchise with two established locations, a location in development and a tailgating location on Ravens Walk at M&T Bank Stadium where the Baltimore Ravens play. Their gourmet take on the grilled cheese sandwich is spawning a faithful following and re-igniting interest in what most would call a basic sandwich.

The founding of the company began with owner Vic Corbi’s 2005 dream about selling….grilled cheese sandwiches! Since the inception of that idea, the company has grown and developed a full menu of items. Of course there is “The Original, “which most should know is creamy American cheese melted between two golden, buttery, toasted slices of white bread. However, they have also done the “Kickin’ BBQ Chicken,” and one of my favorites “The Crabby Melt,” in a menu that includes eleven alternative versions of sandwiches. The menu includes two impeccable soups – a smooth Cream of Tomato Basil and chunky Cream of Broccoli. If you don’t take the soup or salad option you can never go wrong when there are Sweet Potato Fries on the menu – especially when there’s a heaping pile of them!
